Este cometa se considera periódico, es decir, tiene un órbita cerrada alrededor del Sol. Fué descubierto el 7 de septiembre de 2013 por el astrónomo aficionado Terry Lovejoy. En la imagen se pueden observar tres galaxias, dos de ellas muy conocidas (M51 y M63) así como NGC 5023. This comet is considered periodic, therefore has an orbit around de Sun. It was discovered on September 7, 2013 by amateur astronomer Terry Lovejoy. It has been used a camera lens 85mm for a wide field image.
